As you can see, MontanaGoTo (MTGO2) is in its infancy stage. We're back, continuously adding more content!
Welcome to Montanagoto, or maybe even welcome to Montana! I absolutely love the state and the relaxation it can provide. To be fair, I will admit that I may be a little biased because it's where I actually grew up and where my family still lives, so I try to visit often.
When I do mention in random conversations with co-workers or maybe a nurse or trainer or anyone I'm visiting with, I often get the same response when I'm talking about either growing up in Montana or saying that I'm heading there soon to visit my family. Something along the lines of: "I heard it's beautiful up there, I have always wanted to visit Montana." Or sometimes even "I'm planning a vacation to Montana, what should I do or where should I go?"
The answer is yes, you definitely should plan a Montana vacation! As for what to do and where to go, it depends. It's those that have asked about Montana that somewhat inspired this site (a big thank you to any of you that have asked for suggestions). I always have to ask what they are looking for in their vacation (scenery, adventure, history, etc.) since there are so many different things to do and see in the giant state.
I've decided to make a site utilizing my experiences and those of my friends and family that are still there to show everyone the wide variety of experiences you can have if you go to Montana. The ultimate goal is to provide some insider tips to maximize your experience, vacation-related or otherwise!
For me, personally, I love to go for an escape from the city and some
peaceful relaxation outdoors, especially in the summer. The weather is
gorgeous in the summer, 70-80 during the day and it cools down at night,
especially up in the mountains. I currently live in Phoenix, so it's a nice
change to go from over 100 degrees to the cooler, more bearable Montana temperatures. I also
work in corporate finance, so it's nice to "escape" to nature so to
speak. But, this isn't about me, this is about you!
There are a ton of things to do in Montana, it just depends on when you come, what you want to do, and how much time you have! There is all kinds of scenery in the over 30 million acres of state and federal land. This public land and other parts of the state provide opportunities for many outdoor activities (camping, hiking, skiing, fishing, and much more!). Or check out some local restaurants and breweries, dinosaur museums, or a piece of the old west and much, much more. Below are just some of the activities available, give them a click for more detail!

Of course there's even more than what's mentioned above. Having trouble narrowing it down? Check out some of my favorites (well, most favorite). It was hard to shrink this list down too! Already know where you're heading and just looking for things to do in that area? We've got you covered there, too, just check out the city or region specific sections of the site, or use the search box provided below. No matter what you decide to do, have a safe and enjoyable trip!
